"Madonna Of The Burning Cross" January, 1982 Ira: The new family of man will not consist of racial absolutes. Danger, fear, and hatred haunt its pioneers.
Corliss: When studying art history one becomes immersed in Christian Imagery. Icons like this mother and child, and the cross are universally familiar, and rich in meaning. By changing the race of the father in this family, new meaning is added and questions posed.
