"Altar" In Genesis, God demands that Abraham sacrifice what he loves most, his son. How many are forced to make hard decisions or turn over their lives on a principle of faith? In this picture we have used a gender reversal, Isaac is a female principle, the eye is God, super-ego, or the conscience. In my life I have always talked to "myself", I have always felt watched from without, is this a universal human trait? If a tree falls in the forest and it is not heard, has it happened? Do we exist with out this internal running dialogue? Ira Lesser |
